I’m sure someone’s asked this before but what made you switch form Catholicism to invoking demons

left-hand-path-notes:

Hiya! Actually, i don’t think that’s been asked on this blog before.

It wasn’t a straight switch. I went from Catholic to neopagan and then from there to demonolatry.

I left Catholicism because I was a trans queer girl who spent most of her early life closeted, and a lot of the abuse i got was in the name of their god. I have a knee jerk trauma response to a lot of christian rhetoric and doctrine from having it thrown in my face as a justification for all sorts of nonsense.

I came to demons for a few reasons. Number one, demons are cool as hell (pardon the pun) and I’ve always loved them, even when I was a podling and terrified of hell. The idea of these secret ninjas who don’t have to obey the rules just made me excited.

Then, too, Lucifer just…speaks to me. I love their mythos, their stories, and I love talking to them.

Finally, I’m firmly in the “i will dive into hell singing hallelujah to get away from the bastard upstairs” camp, and summoning demons is a sure fire way to do it, not to mention they know things and have shit to offer.

So, yeah. Thanks for asking!
