replied to your chat “me: i want to run a satanic witch shop, but i dont want to be that…”What about some other sort of public space that covertly functions as a temple/gathering area but is open to all, like a library or some such?
That’s similar to something me and the lovely folks on the devil is here have discussed hypothetically actually. The idea was a Luciferian temple that doubles as a homeless shelter/soup kitchen/general community resource, so definitely a library as well. I think Sable was the one who had this lovely idea of an image of Lucifer over the front doorway, holding a light that never goes out. I still adore that mental image. Nobody going there would be required to be affiliated with anything. It’s for everybody who wants it.
I’d love to make something of the sort a reality but the biggest hurdle is not an ideological one. Buildings cost money. Staff need paychecks they can live off. Christian locals often won’t be happy about satanists taking root in their town and might try to destroy the place or get it shut down. Planning alone would be a lot of work and you’d have to fight to find a place that’d be happy to let you do it, without costing an arm and a leg extra. It’d be a huge undertaking.
There’s a reason the money-grabbing scam temples keep running: they have money.
This might actually be happening in the SF Bay Area. I am not super involved in the logistical side yet, I’m bringing the theology and my friend is bringing the lawyer. But lawyers are being talked to.
