Are you sure this is Satan? Seems very benign to me.

you know, i have a pretty negative knee-jerk reaction to when people say “maybe you’re WRONG about your own religious practice”. so there’s that.

that said, Satan has always felt to me like a figure of safety and relative peace. maybe benign isn’t the right word, as Satan is outside the christian morality of good vs evil. He is fiery and sexual and unrelenting. but i get so angry and scared sometimes, and Satan has been someone who is angry for me, who breathes fire and screams at those who would harm me, and whose anger protects me. who can carry me for a little while and then remind me that i can carry myself.
