since i’m starting to work on getting my own Grimoire better organized and figuring out what i think fits best in it for me, i feel like i should log some ideas that have helped me in my journey in hopes that it could help someone else just starting out. but just remember that your Grimoire is your own and personal to you and you alone so you don’t need to put everything in if it doesn’t vibe well with you or doesn’t fit into your craft. your book should hold things that are personal to you and your craft and what you believe and you don’t need to have every bit of knowledge in your book.

obviously you can pick and choose whatever works best for yourself and your craft, and i don’t even have some of these in my own book but still thought they would be helpful to include for witches like me who are just starting out who need ideas of what their books can hold! i’ll probably start posting more about my grimorire and how i keep it organized as well!

Energy cords are things that tie us to other people, spirits, and things in our life. They form for many reason and in different ways, but this post is about removing them so you can remove unwanted people from your life. Cords can be removed in a bunch of different ways. Just removing someone from your life weakens or removes some cords, but this post is about speeding up the removal process through energy work. (this is all from my experience with energy work and cord cutting, you might see or experience the process differently.) -Mod J
First thing you need to do is identify the person you are cutting ties with, and all the ties you might have to them. For example, I had a EX who left my life years ago and i did a cord cutting for our relationship, but i didn’t notice at the time that there were more cords connect me to them because they were more then just a person i dated. They meant a lot to me in different ways like how they were the only person i could talk to about certain things and we had built different aspects to our relationship outside of romantic ties that i ignored because on an unconscious level i didn’t want to give up that significance they had to me. This can take time to really figure out all the different roles a single person could have played in your life so don’t rush the process.
Once you know the different aspects to your relationship to this individual it’s time to go to work and start finding and removing them. I begin by doing the basic like grounding and centering myself and then start meditating until i reach a trance-like state.
Once in a deep meditative state you need to go out of body or visualize this person standing across from you. If you go out of body “find” the person you’re looking for and get a real feel for there energy at this moment. If you are visualizing them standing across from you pick an environment around you that makes you feel comfortable and in control and visualize that place. You need to really be able to create the feel of that person in your mind. This can be done by bringing up memories and/or by using things that belonged to them that you still have. It need’s to be an honest portrayal of that person, including the good and the bad.
Once you can feel and see that person in front of you start locating and/or visualizing these cords. You might notice there are more then one cord for each connection to this person you are cutting, this just means the bond between you and them was built up over time.
now the removal process begins. depending on the cord you are removing it might be better to cut them, or relocate them to other people in your life so you don’t leave an energy hole to be filled. When removing a cord you need to cut BOTH ENDS. This is very important. If you only cut your end or their end it will leave the cord just hanging there for someone or something else to latch onto to or it can just reattach to the person you just removed it from. You can remove these cord by pulling them out of your body and their body with your bare hands. This can be good when you have some pent up aggression for this person to really feel it being removed your you and their chest with your own (energy) hands. You can imagine/use anyway you want to remove or cut them, just make sure you do it from both sides of the cord and then obliterate it. I like to make them dissolve.
If you are relocating a cord from one person to another start the process again from the beginning with this new person, but you wont need to figure out all the aspect of your relationship to this person. take some time to really consider things before you implant one cord into another person. Just because you feel a certain way about someone doesn’t mean that want that same type of bond. It’s always a good thing to ask the other person before doing this. If you have a thought cord like this strong sense of love or trust that cutting will only cause a lot more pain reattach the cord to someone who you ALREADY have a similar connection to. Take the end out from the person you are removing this connection too and implant it into this other person. Watch it take root inside them and feel it change inside you to fit this new person.
The most important thing you need to do now to end this processes is to do some healing on yourself, and hopefully the other person too. Even tho you might not like them, leaving someone energy holes that didn’t occur on their own before you messed with things isn’t cool. So fill these tiny hole with healing energy of some kind. use any method you want. It might also be good to have someone you trust do some healing for you and them too, to really fill in some of the energy damages that might have occurred.
Come out of your meditation and return to normal activities. it might be good to take it slow and do some more grounding and centering because you might have just altered some important connections you relayed on more heavily then you through. take it slow for a day or too and practice some self care because cutting cords can be some heavy emotional stuff.
To be used when a “natural” place of convergence cannot be accessed (a crossroads, ley lines, as well as more metaphorical “gateways,” such a cemeteries or doorways) and/or in addition to one already present.
It acts as a focal point and catalyst for energy/planar convergence, functioning as a gateway in itself or a funnel through which objects might be enchanted.
To use, draw on the ground (if at a crossroads, nearest its center you can manage; if at a cemetery, nearest the central cross) with pemba, white sand, white chalk, cascarilla or any preferred white medium beginning with the central cross and then building the rest of the symbol around thusly. After complete, it’s uses are nearly endless and align with dozens of rituals.
1) by casting flint stones behind your back towards the west – I’ve never used this method but I have seen others use this method of clicking stones together to bring rain.
2) by flinging a little sand into the air – I’ve actually used this method at one of the local beaches in the area. You can feel the sea breeze pick up the sand and carry it. Then you feel the wind shift and you can smell the briny salt of the ocean as the wind whips up the waves. Dark storm clouds form in the distance and you can watch as it rolls towards shore.
3) by striking a river with a broom – this is meant to send the water from the river into the sky thus bringing rain. Splashing river water works just as well. Swinging a broom in circles above your head in the air is also said to bring great winds and even storms.
4) bystirring water with the finger in a hole in the ground – my family’s method of bringing rain and storms uses an adapted version of this method however we tend to use water in a bowl instead of water in the ground though both methods work.
5) by burning rain bringing incense – My aunt uses this method when Melbourne really needs some rain. She buys an incense called ‘rain drops’ made of herbs known for bringing rain and then burns it while standing out in her yard while looking to the sky. Burning ‘rain bringing’ herbs also works.
6) by dancing, singing and playing musical instruments – while this may not seem very ‘witchy’ this method has been used by multiple cultures around the world to bring rain. Stomping your feet on the ground represents raindrops falling. Singing and the music of instruments represent the wind and the sound of rain.
7. Striking a wet rag against the steps of your home.
8. Burning fern and henbane outside.
9. Pointing a dagger at a certain magical square.
Draw the sixth pentacle of the Moon in silver ink (pencil is fine) and submerge it in water. As long as it’s underwater it will rain
The famous knotting of the wind spell from Cornwall, where witches “sold the wind” to sailors. I took a piece of hemp rope, tied the first knot focusing on a light breeze. After I tied the knot, I breathed into it, visualising a breeze. The second knot, a gail. The third knot a tempest. The words I used: “Knot number one, a breeze sealed. Knot number two, a gail concealed. Knot number three, a tempest unrevealed. One knot undone will release a breeze. Two knots undone, a gail. Three knots, the tempest untamed.” Make sure to put a charm on one end to know where the first know was done. I worked upwards from the charm. You don’t want to release a tempest by accident. Keep the rope/cord/string in a box, unseen and protected. Leave the cord out when you’ve unknotted it, so the wind can be “free.” Make sure you focus and visualise as you knot the cord. You could even craft it outdoors facing the direction of the wind.
For rain-making, Compendium Maleficarum mentions throwing crucifixes into water, for the more Satanically inclined witches out there.
Also, lots of pissing in holes and beating the resulting pee-pond with sticks. May well work. May also get pee everywhere. Haven’t tried and don’t necessarily recommend. XD
Also called ‘’The Runes of Henorius’’, these letters are used to write spells and incantations in a ‘’Book of Shadows’’, and to inscribe one’s Craft name on ritual tools and Witch jewels. Their origin is lost in the mists of antiquity.
This is the ritual I did last night. I adapted it from the description of supposed witch initiations in Compendium Maleficarum.
There is some language in here which is specific to trans people who want to use the black baptism as an opportunity to finally cleanse themselves of dead names. Feel free to alter that part, and any part of this really, to suit your individual needs.
I really recommend taking your time with this ritual. Pause to pray or meditate whenever you feel the need. Get creative within the structure and do what feels right in the moment.
You’ll notice that this ritual calls for a secret, magical name. So you’ll need to pick out your “true name” ahead of time. Do this carefully. I consider my true name to be the name of my Inner God. It was not chosen lightly.
You can omit this if you want, and just use the name you prefer to be known by–but taking a new name in Satan is part of the alleged ritual this is based on, and it’s arguably the most important part.
Re: water for the baptism– you could just use plain water but why not make it special! Mine was water mixed with ash from incense burned to Lucifer, with a dash of eclipse water thrown in and a Satanic rosary submerged in it. But that’s just because that was what felt right to me and what I had on hand. You do you. Go crazy.

RITUAL
This ritual is to
be performed at 3am on the morning of a day of personal significance.
Before the stroke
of 3, start bonfire. Draw the magic circle. Have materials ready. It took me at least a two hours to get everything in place how I wanted, but my set up was a little more complicated than the basic one described here. (I set up a whole altar and elaborately decorated my circle with roses, rosemary, and candles.) Give yourself time.
At 3am, step into
circle. Visualize it being filled with your own Darklight. Use this to
construct a ward. From here on in, nothing comes into the circle except you and
Satan.
Say:
This night, in the sight of Satan, I shall be born again.
Light candles and incense, and say:
Hail to thee, Lucifer, Lord of this world! Prince of the Powers of Air!
Son of the Morning! Liberator of humanity! Witness me as I pledge my faith to
thee, and help me make myself anew!
Throw crucifix on the ground. Say:
I deny the tyrant above. I deny
his sycophant son. I deny the holy ghost. I deny the so-called virgin mother,
and all of the angels, and all of the saints. They have no power over me.
Trample the crucifix. Spit on it. Do whatever feels right
to defile it. When you are done, fling it as far out of the circle as you can.
Pick up the Bible. Say:
I renounce this noxious book. The Tyrant Above is the true Father of
Lies. I denounce his teachings, and I deny everyone who tried to tutor me in
them.
Defile Bible. Cast it from the circle.
Get Baptismal water. Say:
I cast off, finally and forever, the false name I was given at birth,
________. I assume my new name, ______, openly before the world. I take into my
soul my true and secret name, the name of my God, never to be uttered aloud
where others may hear it and use it for power over me.
(Say the true/magical name aloud if you want, but only if
nobody can hear you. Like, for damn sure.)
Baptize self with water.
Remove an article of clothing and cast it from the circle.
Say:
As the snake sheds its skin, so I shed mine. I cast off the old on this
day, and profess, now and forever, this creed:
I believe in the cause of the Fallen Angels. I believe in the Serpent
of Eden. I believe in the Kingdom that is below. I believe in the God within
me.
Eat fruit, and say:
By virtue of the forbidden fruit, I am free. I am a sovereign soul on
the path to divinity. Knowingly and of my own volition, I chose to walk this
path with thee, O Satan.
May I be stricken from the Tyrant’s book! May my true name be writ
large in thine!
Visualize a book before you. Raise your finger (or wand, or athame, if you prefer) and write
your true magical name in that invisible book.
Say:
I promise to make my life’s work an offering to thee, and to the God
within me! I vow to burn thy incense, to light thy candles, to speak thy name
with love forever. Speak thou my name, with love, in return!
Never will I make confession to the Tyrant’s priests. Never will I take
the Tyrant’s communion. Instead shall I remember thy Sabbath, I shall gather
with thine other children, and I shall learn to fly to thee.
Make now thy mark on me!
Draw an inverted cross on your brow with incense ash to represent
the mark. Visualize that mark being made permanent on your astral body. (If
something else happens now—cool!)
Say:
Morning Star, be thou my light. Lord of this world, make me Lord of
mine. Raise me up, and I will stand, forever and ever, by thee.
Be it so!
After speaking these words, you may leave the circle. Collect
the discarded items, such as crucifixes and Bible and piece of clothing, to be thrown
into the bonfire.
I deny the tyrant above. I deny his sycophant son. I deny the holy ghost. I deny the archangels and the virgin mother. They have no power over me.
I believe in the cause of the fallen angels. I believe in the Serpent of Eden. I believe in the Kingdom that is below. I believe in the God within me.
