You think “divine” means perfection, but perfect what? Beauty, cruelty, or both?

We admire those who remain cool-headed in difficulties, those who carry the lamp of wisdom beautifully in the world, and we are sometimes deeply moved by images of nobility and courage. Although we sometimes lose touch with it, we each have deep within us a lamp of wisdom, and a powerful spirit of compassion and conscience and understanding that we can draw upon.

Air above me, earth below me, water around me, fire within me.

dear lucifer,
halos crack
and wings fail
and loving someone
with every piece of your soul
gets you nothing.

dear lucifer, 
kin turns on kin
and corruption is easy to find
in the kingdom of heaven
and falling hurts more than anything.

dear lucifer,
forgiveness is hard
and revenge tastes sweet
and darkness doesn’t always mean
you’re lost.

dear lucifer,
wings can keep a man grounded
even when they’re the very things
meant to make him soar.

The wild is an integral part of who we are as children. Without pausing to consider what or where or how, we gather herbs and flowers, old apples and rose hips, shiny pebbles and dead spiders, poems, tears and raindrops, putting each treasured thing into the cauldron of our souls. We stir our bucket of mud as if it were, every one, a bucket of chocolate cake to be mixed for the baking. Little witches, hag children, we dance our wildness, not afraid of not knowing.

The galaxy was your symphony. You dipped your finger in the sky and drew the notes in constellations, and the stars sang for you.

There are strange and wondrous things in these lands of darkness … I must intoxicate myself on magic perfumes in order to fathom the secrets that lie hidden in the abysses of the Unconscious.

Before you speak to me about your religion, first show it to me in how you treat other people; before you tell me how much you love your God, show me in how much you love all His children; before you preach to me of your passion for your faith, teach me about it through your compassion for your neighbors. In the end, I’m not as interested in what you have to tell or sell as I am in how you choose to live and give.
